There does not seem to be a place to activate this program after I purchased it. The game partially obstructs the menu bar. How can I work around this problem?

Seems your screen resolution is less than 1024x768, or you have resized the main window. Resize the window with your mouse or just switch to fullscreen with the F12 button. If you have a 800x600 resolution change it to 1024x768.

To switch the game into full version use the seperate program "Register" as described in the mail we sent you with your registration code. Press the windows start button, all programs, Fun-Towers, Register. Or use the windows explorer and browse to the installations directory, normally c:\program files\fun-towers\ , there you can find and run the "register.exe"
